The coastal village of Dunhaven had always been cloaked in fog, a shroud that blurred the edges of reality.
Liam, a fisherman’s son, thrived in its damp embrace, accustomed to the ceaseless murmur of waves.
One dawn, as he mended nets by the shore, the mist thickened unnaturally.
From its depths emerged a figure - a man, tall and gaunt, his coat tattered as though ravaged by time.
Liam’s breath caught.
The stranger’s eyes, pale and unblinking, fixed on him.
"Where am I?"
the man rasped, his voice a hollow echo.
Liam stammered, "Dunhaven."
The stranger nodded slowly, as if the name stirred something long buried.
Then he vanished back into the fog.
